Breaks from Ballgowns

For those of you who don’t know, my other job is a costume designer/teacher/seamstress (Everyday Alice Boutique). With school being out for the summer, I have been working on a huge project for The Hall Sisters, making fun, romantic 1940’s inspired gowns for them. It was a huge blessing to have 3 hours last night to write with my writing buddy, Emily, and it really inspired me to make time to write during my sewing breaks. This morning I wrote for only 20 minutes but still got 617 words down! I’m approaching the end of Act II in “The Varken” and hope to have to novel finished this month, in anticipating to publish it in April of 2016. Although summers and weddings and sewing can be unpredictable and crazy, I know that everything happens at the appropriate time. I look forward to sharing this story with you soon!
