The Wheels Continue to Spin

The long month continues to be long! Although, it appears I might have a little bit more time to write if I schedule it in. The end of two long journeys came this past week, making my heart very full and my body very tired, but with two more journeys still continuing on.

First, our dearest friends, Sarah and Brandon, tied the knot this past Saturday!

My husband and I were both in the wedding party and excited to share in their special day in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. It was a wonderful time with friends and not a lot of sleep, and even more of a blessing to also spend some time with my high school mentor and photographer, Kristin, whose blog you should most definitely check out (and if you search enough, you might find some of me and my hubby on there!)

The second long journey, were the beautiful ballgowns I designed and built in the past month and a half. Yesterday, we had the photoshoot for The Hall Sisters at a mesmerizing old train station at the North Carolina Transporation Museum. If you follow me on instagram, your phone might have been blowing up with my excitement at the situation:

It was a long day, including a two-hour drive there and back, but 100% worth it! Keep a watch on their Facebook page for the final reveal of the amazing shots we took for their upcoming album! Next week, we will be shooting a music video to promote the album, which will add more whirlwinds to the week as we continue on the other journeys of…

Moving and Wedding!

This week is a week of packing, as we will be relocating closer to the theatre where my husband and I teach, with my brother’s wedding just a couple weeks following.

And so, this proves to be an exceedingly busy summer, and I often find myself planning to write – moments that have yet to be written or outlining and building characters for the next novel – but the time to write escapes me. I am hoping that this week will provide some little 25 minute packing breaks in which I will grab my third or fourth cup of coffee for the day and get some words down! This morning, I managed to finish up a scene and I’m determined to find some more time later, rather than slumping onto the couch to watch TV and play video games.
