As they say, “best-laid plans of mice and men oft go astray”. I was so sure that I might never go back to “The Varken”, and following it up with “The Blessed” but I suppose my heart just needed a rest.
When I began the short jog in the journey of self-publishing that was The Final Days of reading through the proof-copy, it gave me a lot of space from “The Varken” and allowed me to return to the original novel. Hart, being a main character in “The Varken”, had such a tiny role in “The Keeper”, but when I got to his part of the novel, I was reminded of what made him such an inspirational and exciting character. During the process, I began to develop some ideas for “The Blessed” as well, working long and hard on my Pinterest board as a little bit of “non-productive writing fun time”. And THEN, my husband introduced me to Evernote, which suddenly became an asset in my outlining, character creation and world-building process.
And thus, my motivation, inspiration, and determination to finish “The Varken” returned! I was almost too sheepish to admit it after all of the research, plotting and planning I did for “Operation Brightstar”. But, I suppose, that this proves that I might actually one day finish that story as well.
As for “The Keeper”, I have been so encouraged by the support I have received in the first few weeks of making the novel available! I had a very successful give-away contest that really helped in boosting my exposure and helping in getting my name out there. I am working on getting the book onto Goodreads and pursuing some other opportunities for marketing the novel.
And I appreciate all of you! Thank you for your continued support and I can’t wait to share more of the world of “The Keeper” soon!
So glad you’ve decided to continue the Keeper story – I love all the characters!!
